Chicago singer Shaylin B goes talks about entertainment industry, finding parts of herself and relationships that influenced her music.

Chicago Singer, @shaylinb , slides to @pvtstck to discuss her journey within the entertainment industry & uncovering different parts of herself. Shaylin discusses her work on Broadway as Young Nala in “The Lion King,” pursuing music in Atlanta, struggling with other people’s expectations, & the relationships that inspired some of her best music.

In the song, “SOS,” Shaylin sings, “I know it’s been awhile since we’ve talked / you’ve never left me / you’ve always loved me / and I thank you for it / I just need your help today,” Shaylin uses this song to speak to God & ask him for his love & guidance. Shaylin’s relationship with God has always been strong, but it’s in times of lost identity & struggle we often seek him the most. Shaylin has overcome broken relationships, broken self-image, and deception from those she felt would help; however, she continues to remember that God will always place her on the correct path.
