Chicago Chef: David Matulac comes to discuss confidence, business and habits

Chicago Chef, @db.matulac , pulls up on us to discuss his journey within the food industry, struggling with self-belief, being taken for granted, and staying in situations which no longer served him.

In the song, “Eraser” Ed Sheeran says, “’I’m well aware of certain things that can destroy a man like me / But with that said give me one more, higher / Another one to take the sting away / I am happy on my own, so here I’ll stay / Save your lovin’ arms for a rainy day / And I’ll find comfort in my pain.” Ed’s found acceptance in the fact that certain habits he had would destroy the trajectory he was on. Similar to Ed, David found himself in a position where he accepted far less than what he envisioned life to be. David struggled to change habits until the pain became too much. We all struggle with change when we’re afraid of the unknown, but David took the leap & never looked back.

Also discussed: Working with @smash_jibarito , Running his business @kanto.taqueria , & becoming a GM at “The Roost” at 25.
