Karol G Launches Her “Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour” With a Celebration of Culture and Global Stardom

Karol G opened the first night of her Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour at Chicago’s Soldier Field with a cinematic video package tracing her journey from birth to international stardom. Moving through childhood, self-discovery and the experiences that shaped her, the introduction established the concert as more than a collection of hits—it was a celebration of everything Karol G endured, embraced and ultimately became.
She emerged with “LATINA FOREVA” from her album Tropicoqueta before launching into an energetic opening run that included “Un Gatito Me Llamó,” “OKI DOKI,” “Tá OK (Remix),” “QLONA” and “S91.” The sequence immediately showcased the confidence and commanding stage presence that transformed Karol G from a rising Colombian artist into one of Latin music’s biggest global stars.
Following the first intermission, another short film transitioned into a beautifully choreographed performance of “Tropicoqueta.” Surrounded by colorful costumes, vibrant staging and dancers moving across the massive production, Karol celebrated the Latin identity and musical traditions she has always carried proudly. The spectacle grew even larger during “Papasito,” when an enormous macaw appeared above the stage—one of the night’s most memorable visual moments.
The show then shifted from tropical spectacle to something more intimate as a mariachi ensemble joined Karol for “Ese Hombre Es Malo,” “200 COPAS” and “MAMIII.” It was one of the concert’s strongest sections, allowing the emotion within the songs to take center stage without sacrificing the scale of the stadium production.
Karol later rose from beneath the stage atop an oversized set of bongos for “Ivonny Bonita” before making her way through the center of the crowd while performing “Pineapple” and “GATÚBELA.” Her journey to the secondary stage helped collapse the distance between performer and audience, making even a venue as massive as Soldier Field feel surprisingly personal.
Once she reached the B-stage, Karol and her dancers delivered one of the night’s most visually impressive sequences on a platform filled with water. The choreography, lighting and splashing water combined to create a performance that felt cinematic without losing its spontaneity. Even when Karol exited the stage, her dancers maintained the show’s momentum before transitioning into a DJ-led celebration featuring fan favorites such as “TQG” and “PROVENZA.”
Returning in her final outfit of the night, Karol appeared to bring the show to a close with “Tusa.” Instead, she returned for an emotional encore that brought the tour’s larger message into focus. As flags from around the world filled the screens during “Viajando Por El Mundo,” the stadium became a celebration not only of Karol G’s journey, but of the international audience that helped make it possible.
